Testimonial from David Pena, August 29 2011
My name is David Pena. I am an auto mechanic. One day while working my first job of the morning the hood of a car fell and hit me on the back of my head very hard. I stumbled and had to take a break and then after awhile the pain in my head went away and I did not pay any attention to it after that until that evening.
Suddenly while still at work that evening I noticed my leg starting to ache and thought that was strange because I had not had any problem like that before. I went home and took some Tylenol and went to bed with the leg still aching.
The next day when I got out of bed and took three steps, I went to the floor with the pain and could not walk! I suffered at home for four days with severe leg pain before finally giving in to go to the emergency room to see the doctor.
The doctor said I had sciatica nerve pressure and gave me Valium and two other prescription medications. He told me it would take at least 6 months for a recovery and it may recur after that. then asked him if it may have been caused by the injury I had a few days earlier to my head. He laughed out loud and told me that had nothing to do with this. This was a leg problem and unrelated to
my head or neck.
I went home and took the medications for a week and had no change. The leg was so painful I could only walk with a cane and then even barely at all.
I remembered meeting Dr. McHenry by chance several months previously on the Tampa Bay Trail as we were both avid cyclists and happened to be out training at the same time. A friend of mine who also cycles competitively also knew Dr. McHenry and that friend gave me Dr. McHenry’s phone number.
I had my first appointment the next day and Dr. McHenry found nerve pressure in my upper neck. I was embarrassed to say anything about the head injury I had as the previous doctor had laughed at me. Dr. McHenry took x-rays on my neck even though I had no complaint of a neck problem. He showed me the x-ray the next day and it was only then that he asked me if I had any injury to my neck in the past.
I was so glad to be able to tell him about the hood hitting my head before I the problem started in my leg. So the first adjustment he did was only on my atlas in the upper neck. Immediately when he made the first adjustment I felt a sensation go all the way down my leg!
My leg pain was at least 50% better after the first adjustment. Dr. McHenry never did anything to my leg or bag and within a few days I was walking without my cane and nearly pain free. I would recommend this clinic to everyone because I was able to find the cause of my problem and get it fixed quickly. Medications did not fix the problem but Dr. McHenry did!
Thank You.
